Rania is the Horn of Africa Team Leader at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) in New York. Rania joined UNOCHA in 2008 as a Humanitarian Affairs Officer from her post as Political Affairs Officer with the United Nations Advance Mission in Khartoum, Sudan.
From 2008-2014, Rania worked as a Humanitarian Affairs Officer at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) in New York.
She recently took part in the Fourth Annual Frontiers of Humanitarianism Conference at the Lincoln Center, New York, where she tried to encourage organisations to hire more national professionals from respective regions as they bring many benefits, including ‘nuanced local knowledge, the ability to speak native languages and dialects, and impartial analysis of emerging situations’.
